BYD Flash Charging has reached a major milestone in the electric vehicle industry. On August 28, 2026, BYD opened its 10,000th Flash Charging station in China, marking rapid growth for one of the world’s most ambitious ultra-fast EV charging networks.

The milestone station was opened in Shenzhen, bringing BYD Flash Charging to 10,000 locations across 325 cities in mainland China. The company originally introduced its latest Flash Charging technology in March 2026.

BYD Flash Charging Network Reaches 10,000 Stations

BYD has expanded its Flash Charging network at a rapid pace. The company reached around 5,000 stations in early April, meaning the network has doubled in less than five months.

According to reports, the network has already delivered around 210 million kWh of electricity. More than 1.83 million users have registered for the Flash Charging network, with users of non-BYD vehicles accounting for nearly one-third of the total.

1,500 kW Charging Technology

One of the most notable features of BYD Flash Charging is its extremely high power output. The latest charging stations can deliver up to 1,500 kW, or 1.5 megawatts, under compatible conditions.

However, the maximum charging power of a station does not mean every electric vehicle will automatically charge at 1,500 kW. The vehicle's battery, electrical architecture and charging system must also support the required power level.

BYD Targets 20,000 Flash Charging Stations

Reaching 10,000 stations means BYD has completed approximately half of its 2026 target.

The company plans to build 20,000 Flash Charging stations in China by the end of 2026. The target includes approximately 18,000 urban stations and 2,000 highway charging stations.

To reach the goal, BYD will need to continue expanding the network at a much faster pace during the remaining months of the year.
