Compatible Vehicles

Most non-Tesla EVs and plug-in hybrids sold in the U.S. with a J1772 port (for example Chevy Bolt and Equinox EV, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Nissan Leaf, Rivian, VW ID.4). Teslas can use it with the J1772 adapter that comes with most Teslas. Always check your vehicle's maximum AC charging rate; a car with an 11 kW onboard charger will not charge faster than that, even on a higher-rated charger.

Installation Requirements

For full 40A charging the charger needs a dedicated 240V circuit with a 50A double-pole breaker (125% of the charging current). A plug-in version uses a NEMA 14-50 outlet on a 50A circuit with 6 AWG copper wire, and recent codes generally require GFCI protection for garage and outdoor 240V outlets.
